Humble Journey Films Buys Movie Rights to
Beneath a Marble Sky: A Novel of the Taj Mahal

After receiving substantial interest fom Hollywood, author John Shors sells movie rights for his bestselling book, Beneath a Marble Sky: A Novel of the Taj Mahal

Boulder, CO, January 7, 2005 – John Shors, author of the critically acclaimed and bestselling book, Beneath a Marble Sky: A Novel of the Taj Mahal, announced today that the film rights to his novel have been acquired by Humble Journey Films of Hollywood, California. Shors and McPherson & Company, the publishing house that owns the hardcover rights to his novel, brokered the deal. Humble Journey Films is headed by former “ER” star Eriq LaSalle.

Beneath a Marble Sky is based on the remarkable story behind the creation of the Taj Mahal. The novel was released in June of 2004 to widespread acclaim. It has since hit numerous bestseller lists, and is already well into its second printing. Several prominent groups in Hollywood expressed interest in the film rights to Beneath a Marble Sky. Immediately upon closing the deal, Eriq LaSalle flew to India to meet with Bollywood executives, and to visit the Taj Mahal.
